Hospital, Blue Shield reach three-year agreement

Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) and Blue Shield of California reached a new health insurance provider agreement Thursday. “We’re very pleased that SHC and Blue Shield were able to complete a new agreement in the nick of time,” said Randy Livingston, the university's vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer.

Indianapolis selects Luck with first overall draft pick

The Indianapolis Colts selected Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, which got under way Thursday night in New York City. Luck is the fourth Stanford quarterback to be selected No. 1 overall in the NFL Draft.

  • Student mental health coverage change: Stanford will partner with Managed Health Network Inc., a Health Net company, to administer mental health insurance benefits for Stanford students who enroll in Cardinal Care, effective at the beginning of the 2012-13 academic year. The change follows a detailed review of students' mental health coverage needs. Levels of benefits will not change. For additional information, visit the Vaden Health Center website.
