Five poets and five fiction writers will spend two years developing their writing skills in the company of peers and under the guidance of Stanford faculty as part of the program created in 1946 by acclaimed author Wallace Stegner, left.

After successfully piloting a TED-like event in 2011, Stanford will hold "TEDxStanford: Illumination" on May 19. The all-day event features short talks and performances, including Chocolate Heads Movement Band, left. Tickets go on sale April 9.
