Henry H. Jones, whose career as a professor of radiology spanned almost six decades, died Aug. 11 at 95. Intrigued by the radiology of the skeletal system, Jones contributed to landmark research on the effects of running and tennis on the bones.

Dumbarton Bridge closure: Due to seismic retrofitting, the Dumbarton Bridge is scheduled to be closed to all motor vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic from 10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31, to 5 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4. In addition to holiday weekend travel, the closure may affect traffic departing the Peninsula after the first Stanford football game of the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31.
