Provost John Etchemendy has created a new unit, Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies, to coordinate and enrich the many Stanford educational experiences for middle school and high school students.

Packard treats smallest child yet to receive a pacemaker

Jaya Maharaj was 15 minutes old when she was sent to surgery at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and given a pacemaker that saved her life. She is smaller than any pacemaker recipient ever reported in the medical literature.
