Kavli study says galaxy may swarm with 'nomad planets'

Our galaxy may be awash in homeless planets, wandering through space instead of orbiting a star, according to a new study by researchers at the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology.

Research by GSB's Margaret Neale shows that knowing negotiation partners too well or having the wrong kind of information about them can produce less successful results than having no information at all.

3,800 expected to attend annual Parents' Weekend

Some 3,800 family members are expected to attend this year's Parents' Weekend on Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25. Faculty lectures remain the most popular offering for Stanford parents.

  • Voting under way for Faculty Senate: Voting has begun to elect members of the 45th Senate of the Academic Council and to nominate full professors to fill upcoming vacancies on the Academic Council's Advisory Board. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on March 10. All members of the Academic Council will receive emails advising them of the election and providing the link for submitting votes.
