Researchers find new method of sequencing fetal genome

Stanford researchers have for the first time sequenced the genome of an unborn baby using only a blood sample from the mother. Bioengineering Professor Stephen Quake, left, is senior author of the research, published July 4 in Nature.

Day care assistance extended to eligible full-time faculty

Under the Faculty Child Care Assistance Program, Stanford reimburses eligible faculty for child care expenses for children age 5 and younger. Applications are due Aug. 20 for current and continuing faculty, and Oct. 1 for newly eligible or newly hired faculty.
