New program developed for food trucks on campus

Stanford has developed a new food truck program that will increase the food offerings on campus. The program also will include a new policy requiring food truck vendors to operate safely and comply with sustainability policies.

Center for the American West makes foray into the news

Already an interdisciplinary hub for regional studies, the Bill Lane Center for the American West also has been bringing in journalists to connect with Stanford scholars, partnering with news agencies and conducting original reporting.

Subtle language changes can lead to more ethical behavior

Euphemisms like "creative accounting" don't just sound more pleasant than "cooking the books." They also make us more willing to cross moral lines. But new research shows that subtle changes to the same word, like "cheating" to "cheater," can make people behave more ethically.

  • Stanford Facts Book: University Communications is accepting advance orders for the 2013 Stanford Facts Book. The 52-page booklet costs $3.25 for university departments and is expected to be delivered mid-January. The booklet includes information about Stanford, including the university's history, enrollment numbers, faculty statistics and financial information. It is also available online.
