We've got the power: Wind can meet the world's demand

Researchers at Stanford and the University of Delaware developed the most sophisticated weather model available to show that, not only is there plenty of wind to provide half the world's power by 2030, but there is enough to exceed the total demand by several times.

Biochemist James Spudich  to share Lasker Award

James Spudich, a biochemist in the Medical School, will receive the 2012 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award for his investigations of the molecular motors that drive our skeletal muscle contractions and heartbeats, enable our cells to divide and power immune cells through our tissues.

  • Save the date for the IT Unconference: Registration will open Wednesday for the annual IT Unconference, which is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge. The Unconference, sponsored by schools, departments and administrative units across the university, is a daylong event geared toward building community among Stanford’s IT professionals.
