We are America's most trusted provider of reproductive health care & we think we look pretty good for 100 years old.
We will not silently stand by as immigrant youth including DACA recipients and people with TPS (Temporary Protected Status), many of whom are part of the Planned Parenthood community and rely on Planned Parenthood for health care, are stripped of their rights and protections.
That’s why Planned Parenthood is calling on Congress to pass the Clean DREAM Act now to ensure immigrant youth in this country are able to live a life free from discrimination and the fear of deportation, and have access to health care they need.
It’s okay if you aren’t familiar with the process of getting tested. In the U.S., 1 in 8 people who have HIV don’t know it. But the good news is that there are options when it comes to getting tested for HIV. And that makes it easier for you to keep track of your status.
We’re facing unprecedented attacks on our health care, rights, and communities. Despite the fact that birth control is essential to women’s economic and social advancement—the Trump administration is hell-bent on chipping away at access to it.
in health class they told us that stress could cause you to develop genital warts, is this true?
Not exactly. The only way you can get genital warts is by having sexual contact with someone who has the virus that causes genital warts. Genital warts are common and are caused by a few types of HPV. Genital warts can be annoying but they’re treatable and aren’t dangerous.
What is true is that if you have HPV/genital warts, stress can cause flare ups. Since HPV can stay in your body for many months, years or even for life, warts may come and go. So stress (among other things, like smoking) can help trigger a wart, but only if you already have the virus. Getting the Gardasil HPV vaccine and using condoms helps to lower your chances of getting or spreading genital warts. Learn more about genital warts and the HPV vaccine.
This year, we’re thankful for our health and for access to the health insurance and health care we need. If you need coverage, visit HealthCare.gov before December 15 to pick a plan. Easy as pie.
