REAP Internships - Learning to Give Back

Interning at REAP

REAP offers internships to highly qualified Stanford students as well as students from other institutions who seek to make a difference in the world through action research. REAP internships give students an opportunity to step outside the classroom into rural China to learn about the educational barriers poor children face as they struggle to escape poverty and contribute to China’s developing economy.

They will work directly with Stanford faculty and REAP Project Managers to contribute to policy-relevant research aimed at solving global development problems.

Summer Travel Internships

Our summer internships offer students an opportunity to gain first-hand field experience in rural China. The trips include interactions with local students who have been impacted by REAP’s research efforts, along with local principals, parents, clinicians, and government officials who are committed to improving education in rural China.

4-Week Research Internship:

Research teams spend approximately two weeks on location in China and another two weeks in REAP's Stanford office analyzing data and sharing project findings.

Accepting applications until February 9th, 2016!

10-Week Global Policy Internship:

Hosted by our sister organization, the Center for Experimental Economics in Education (CEEE) at Shaanxi Normal University, our global policy interns will spend 10 weeks in Xi'an working with our in-China field team. Specific assignments will vary, but past tasks have included editing survey materials, attending meetings with local government contacts, helping to translate for reporters during project site visits, and preparing English language grant proposals. You will also be paired with a local graduate student to visit rural villages and conduct qualitative interviews.

Accepting applications until February 9th, 2016!

Research Internships

REAP is always looking for capable students who are passionate about our development research. On an as-needed basis, we recruit students to work alongside Stanford faculty and REAP Project Managers to assist with research and policy analysis.

Research intern responsibilities may include conducting literature reviews or drafting and translating outreach materials.

There are no current openings. Please check back with us for future opportunities.
