Volunteer as a Seed Coach

Volunteer Business Coaches attend the Stanford Africa Business Forum, held April 2015.

Seed Coaches attending the Stanford Africa Business Forum, held April 2015.

Seed's integrated approach to ending poverty in developing economies addresses multiple fronts across multiple time horizons.

The Stanford Seed Coach Program is an integral component of Seed's Transformation Program (STP) which drives immediate impact through leadership training, general management sessions, networking, and coaching for founders/leaders of existing enterprises in Africa (and soon additional geographies around the world).

We believe that growing enterprises benefit regions in which they operate not only through job creation for themselves and their vendors, but also by offering innovative products and services that benefit the poor directly.

Your Role as a Coach

As a Seed Coach, you will spend 12 months in Africa and collaborate closely with participants of Seed's Transformation Program.

Together with founders/leaders, you will formulate—and help implement—strategies for business growth intended to transform companies into job creators and purveyors of products and services designed to improve the lives of people living in poverty.

Coaches are business leaders with hands-on management experience in companies or operational divisions that have shown aggressive growth.

They are innovators with successful track-records in entrepreneurial, fast growth companies and can relate to the challenges and opportunities faced by founders and CEOs in Africa.

Coaches have empathy and are well versed in the soft people development skills necessary to bring about positive outcomes in a multicultural context.

Provisional Benefits

  • Seed Coaches receive economy airfare to and from Africa, lodging for the duration of the assignment, and per diem.
  • Regular trips to and from your companys' locations are covered as well.
