Stanford University Geriatric Education Resource Center

About the Stanford University Geriatric Education Resource Center

The resources offered here grew out of an initiative funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation. Members of the national consortium that developed these products include: the American Academy of Family Physicians and eight academic medical centers: Baylor College of Medicine, Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University, Stanford University, University of California - Los Angeles, University of Chicago, University of Connecticut, and the University of Rochester.

The educational resources developed by these sites have been shared at national meetings and evaluated by end users. The products are distributed by Stanford University Geriatric Education Resource Center (SUGERC). All proceeds are used to cover the cost of producing and disseminating these materials, and to advance our educational mission: assisting medical residents in improving the care of older persons.

All of us involved in this effort sincerely hope that you will find these products useful in enhancing the abilities of your faculty and trainees in graduate medical education to gain the all-important geriatric perspective. Our ultimate goal is to improve the quality of health care for older persons..
