Marguerite shuttle route and schedule adjustments effective March 1
Construction-related traffic delays have impacted Stanford’s free Marguerite shuttle service. To improve on-time performance, address underutilized routes, and meet ridership needs, the following route and service adjustments will be implemented on Thursday, March 1:
Route adjustments and stop changes
- SMP and V stops on Pasteur Drive at the Hospital Fountain are moving to Quarry Extension (GIF, 139 KB).
Due to this change, the following stops will be removed:
- SMP – Pasteur Drive at Sand Hill Road and at the Hospital Fountain
- Line V – Li Ka Shing Center (LKSC), Medical School Office Building (MSOB), Hospital Fountain, Campus Drive at Panama and Campus Drive at the Cogen Facility (near Via Ortega)
The following stops are being added in place of the discontinued stops:
- Quarry Extension at the School of Medicine (near Roth Extension)
- Quarry Extension near the Emergency Department (ED) entrance
- 1050A will no longer serve the Hospital Fountain stop at the Medical Center. It will now begin and end its route at the Medical School Office Building (MSOB) stop on Campus Drive at Panama.
- Line C will no longer serve the Hospital Fountain stop at the Medical Center. New stops have been added on Welch Road near South Pasteur, next to the Lucas MRI Center.
- Line MC Holiday will use the Caltrain platform instead of the bus depot at the Palo Alto Transit Center for boarding and alighting of passengers.
Schedule adjustments
- Line C will adjust its schedule to reflect the relocation of service from the Hospital Fountain to Welch Road.
- Line MC Limited will have minor adjustments to two runs, with start times changing from 9:13 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and from 9:33 a.m. to 9:35 a.m.
- Line P will alter its midday schedule by 10 minutes, with the Line P midday service beginning at 9:50 a.m. instead of 9:40 a.m., and Line P Express ending its service at 9:40 a.m. instead of 9:30 a.m.
- Line V will adjust its schedule to reflect the relocation of service from the Hospital Fountain to Quarry Extension.
- RP (Research Park) evening schedule will adjust its schedule by 2 to 5 minutes. Please see the schedule for details.
- Shopping Express will add time to its weekday route to improve on-time performance.
- SLAC will adjust its schedule during the day and at peak morning and afternoon times due to heavier traffic on Sand Hill Road. Service will continue to be every 20 minutes, except the last four runs of the day, which are every 40 minutes.
- SMP will adjust its schedule to reflect the relocation of service from the Hospital Fountain to Quarry Extension.

1 It is important for Parking & Transportation Services to communicate parking and alternative-transportation information to the campus. Under the 2000 General Use Permit (campus growth plan approved by Santa Clara County), the campus has a goal of "no net new peak-hour commute trips" over the life of the permit and must accommodate campus growth with a limited number of new parking spaces. Failure to achieve this goal will result in the campus being faced with costly mitigation measures.
