Operations Manager, Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Services

Commute Club member
I take the train.

I have been a Commute Club member since I started working at Stanford Hospital in 2008. At my orientation meeting, it was mentioned that there would be incentives to use an alternative commute to work. I thought to myself, this is a win, win situation.

So I called Parking and Transportation and explained that I was new and asked about the options. They sent me options to choose from. I reviewed them, picked one, and have been on the same schedule since then. I drive 2.2 miles, take light rail, Caltrain and the Marguerite shuttle. It gets me to work in less than an hour. It allows me to read leisurely and work on projects that need to get done.

I have met many wonderful people and developed friendships that would not have been made if I was driving to work. I have even planned day trips with my new friends. And can you imagine how much gas I have saved?! I plan to stay with the Commute Club until I retire. It has been a valuable experience, and I love the Go Pass.

Thank you, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, for this extraordinary gift. It is truly appreciated. GO STANFORD!
