FOR RESEARCH ADMINISTRATORS – Other Contracts Information
Equipment Loan FAQs
ICO also handles other research-related agreements with companies, such as software research licenses and equipment loans.
- What is a software research license or equipment loan?
- A software research license grants a University researcher the right to use a company’s software at Stanford for research purposes only. An equipment loan grants a University researcher the right to use a company’s equipment at Stanford for research purposes. Please see Equipment Loan FAQs
- What do I do if a PI needs one of these agreements?
- Have the PI complete and sign the Software Routing Form or the Equipment Routing Form and email or fax the form to ICO. Some organizations will send the PI their agreement – if so, please forward it to us. After we have reviewed the Routing Form and the agreement, we will contact the PI and company resolve any questions.
For purchases of software or equipment, please contact Stanford’s Procurement Department.
