REGIONAL FIELD MANAGER, MOMS CLEAN AIR FORCE

 

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

 

The Moms Clean Air Force Regional Field Manager works to implement MCAF’s national campaign agenda in priority states and build out an enduring partnership and program with GreenLatinos. This position recruits, trains and manages field consultants and volunteers in priority states.  The Regional Field Manager reports to the National Field Manager of MCAF and maintains a strong relationship with GreenLatinos leadership.  This position is preferably to be in either Washington D.C., Boulder, CO, Austin, TX or could be remote.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and implement a community engagement and education program in priority states to increase the cadre of Moms and GreenLatinos’ Latina moms and community advocates on pollution, climate change and air quality issues. 

 

  • Develop co-branded (Moms & GL) outreach and education materials to educate existing and potential clean air advocates in the Latino/a community

 

  • Recruit, train and manage Moms field consultants in priority states to execute grassroots advocacy and media events to amplify GL & Moms policy positions

 

  • Identify opportunities and work with Moms’ field consultants and GreenLatinos member organizations to organize earned media events to amplify the voices of Latina moms and families in priority states and districts.  Work with GL and Moms communications consultants to increase visibility of organizations’ policy priorities through managing media opportunities in priority states, including publication of LTEs, op-eds, non-opinion pieces

 

  • Leverage social media tools to engage, activate and mobilize membership on priority issues and action opportunities.

 

  • Represent both Moms Clean Air Force and GreenLatinos at key advocacy, stakeholder and leadership forums

 

  • Manage GreenLatinos membership update calls with its network of members across the country as well as schedule and maintain regular all-staff and individual calls with Moms Clean Air Force field consultants, volunteers, and key partners.

 

  • Provide strategic leadership to Moms leadership to shape annual goals and compile and coordinate incoming reports and narrative requests from Moms leadership

 

  • Manage legislative engagement with public and elected officials in priority states

 

  • Develop coalitions, partnerships, and alliances that can serve to advance GL & Moms’ shared policy positions and priorities

 

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with 100+ activists, NGOs, government agencies, policymakers, campaigners, influential thought leaders and industry counterparts nationally.

 

  • Plan and execute one or more legislative fly-ins with GL & Moms members

 

  • Hold strong policy and political knowledge of essential federal and state environmental policy including: Federal Clean Air Act, Federal Toxic Substances Chemical Act and various state and federal oil and gas methane rules, among others and continually evaluate the impacts of policy decisions on core membership and constituencies.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Travel:

 

50% or more of travel is expected for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years relevant work experience, or advanced degree with 2 or more year’s related experience.
  • Demonstrated record of successful coalition-building experience and leadership in environmental justice campaigns.
  • Demonstrated leadership working in Latino/a communities.
  • Demonstrated volunteer management success
  • Applies advanced mastery of the principles, concepts, and methods of a professional field.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work independently, and successfully handle and prioritize diverse, simultaneous tasks
  • Ability to communicate to large audiences, including public speaking, giving presentations and responding to media requests
  • Ability to organize and execute events
  • Ability to activate and organize citizens through online and on-the-ground organizing
  • Understanding of the US political landscape
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficiency in the use of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
