The EcoCenter is a nature center and community resource open to the public in the Palo Alto Baylands. The EcoCenter offers free environmental education through public learning programs, events, touchscreen science exhibits, a green building tour, and more.

Join us for Birds of a Feather: Hands-on Birding Activities and Hike on May 14!                                                            

Ever wonder why egrets have long, pointed beaks? Ever Wonder why tail feathers are different from flight feathers? Good news! Come to the EcoCenter on May 14 for Birds of a Feather, a free all-ages program. You'll learn about unique bird adaptations and apply your newfound skills in the field through a short docent-led hike!

Discover Science and Nature this Summer: Register for the EV's Summer Day Camp programs for Grades 1-6.

The EV offers hands-on Summer Day Camp programs to inspire a love of nature through hands-on activities, field trips, and more. In 2016, we are back with 3 weeks of Explore! Camp and 2 weeks of our most popular camp - Girls in Science!

New in 2016: we are also offering a July "Mini Camp" program.

Volunteers are the heart of our organization! 

At the EV, our volunteers deliver hands-on natural science education to 10,000 kids in classrooms, on field trips, and to people of all ages at the EcoCenter. Staff provides training, support, and comraderie to our volunteers; in fact, we think of volunteers as members of the EV family!

"A Bee's Eye View": Photography Exhibit and Reception

Exhibit dates: March through May 2016 at the EcoCenter

The EcoCenter Art Gallery is hosting a photography exhibit by Judy Kramer!

Judy Kramer is a local nature photographer with a passion for native wildflowers. She is a former co-president of the Palo Alto Camera Club, and her images have appeared in numerous local exhibits, the newsletters of many environmental organizations, and two books. Join us for the opening reception of this photographic examination of Bay Area flowers, pollinators, and pollinator predators.
