Earl Koberlein
Position: Senior Associate Athletics Director
Alma Mater: Stanford '88

Earl Koberlein serves as Stanford's senior associate athletic director for intercollegiate sports.

A Stanford men's basketball player from 1982-86,  Koberlein was promoted to director of intercollegiate sports and championships in 1996, was named an assistant athletic director in 1999 and associate athletic director in 2001 before being named to his current post in 2006.

His responsibilities include overseeing the men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's water polo, and lacrosse programs. In addition, Koberlein oversees sports medicine, sports performance and all postseason championship events hosted by Stanford.

Koberlein served on the NCAA Men's Soccer Committee from 2003-07, and has served as an NCAA site representative for NCAA Baseball Regionals and Super Regionals, and NCAA Men's Soccer Championship. Koberlein is currently serving on the NCAA's Olympic Sport Liaison Committee.

Koberlein graduated from Stanford with a degree in psychology in 1987 and went on to play professional basketball in Australia. He earned a master's degree in sport management from USF in 1994

Koberlein began working at Stanford in 1993 as the men's basketball administrative assistant.

Koberlein and his wife, Mimi, a 1988 graduate of Stanford, have three sons -- twins Will and Jensen, and Jackson.
