STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford was well represented among this year’s All-Pac-12 Team, as announced today by the conference office.

In addition to Tom Fawcett being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and Paul Goldstein tabbed Pac-12 Coach of the Year, John Morrissey and David Wilczynski were also recognized.

The ITA Northwest Region Rookie of the Year, Fawcett led the Cardinal with a 26-12 overall record and was 14-7 in duals, playing all of his matches at the No. 1 position. In addition to earning an at-large berth in the NCAA Singles Championship, Fawcett captured the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships title in October, becoming the first Cardinal player to win the event since Ryan Thacher (2011) and first Stanford freshman since KJ Hippensteel (1998). In doubles, Fawcett teamed with Maciek Romanowicz for an 18-4 overall record.

Morrissey earned a spot on the second team for the third consecutive season. The senior finished 18-9 overall and 16-6 in duals, including a 14-4 record at the No. 2 spot. Among Morrissey’s 18 victories was a 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 6-3 win over 19th-ranked Roberto Quiroz, as Stanford upset No. 5 USC for its first win over the Trojans since 2011 while clinching a share of the Pac-12 title. In doubles, Morrissey and Robert Stineman earned All-America accolades with a top-8 seed in the NCAA Doubles Championship and finishing the season 15-5 overall.

Wilczynski wrapped up an impressive freshman season by receiving honorable mention status. The first player in school history to play at least one dual match at all six singles spots, Wilczynski finished 22-14 overall and was 13-9 in duals.

Meanwhile, first-year skipper Paul Goldstein was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year, Stanford’s first honoree since John Whitlinger claimed the Pac-10 honor in 2006. Also tabbed the ITA Northwest Region Coach of the Year, Goldstein directed Stanford (18-7, 6-1 Pac-12) to its first NCAA Tournament win in three seasons and a share of the regular-season conference championship for the first time since 2010. Showcasing a lineup that featured three freshmen, the Cardinal entered the postseason ranked No. 23 in the nation and also reached the Pac-12 Tournament for the first time in school history.

Stanford’s first Taube Family Director of Men’s Tennis, Goldstein was introduced as the 10th head coach in school history on June 24, 2014. Goldstein enjoyed a stellar collegiate career from 1995-98, leading the Cardinal to a 104-6 overall record while becoming the first player in NCAA history to compete as a starting member of four consecutive national championship teams. Goldstein was honored as an All-American in each of his four years.
