WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – Freshman Will Spencer won the men’s 4+ at the 2015 Under 23 & Senior I World Championships Trials.
The win qualifies him for the U-23 World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria July 20-26.
Sitting bow seat of the four, Spencer helped the Seattle Area crew dominate the finals by over seven seconds. The winning time was 6:28.08 for Spencer and his boat mates.
On Sunday, Spencer’s boat had the fastest time trials performance, but only by three seconds. They were able to more than double that advantage in the finals.
Stanford men’s rowing now has had someone qualify for the U-23 World Championships in 10 straight years.
