STANFORD, Calif. – Pairings for the 2015 Gulf Coast Showcase were announced on Tuesday afternoon and Stanford will open the tournament with Missouri State at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT on Friday, November 27 at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.
The Cardinal and Lady Bears are in the top half of the bracket with Dayton and Maine. The winners from Friday play in one semifinal on Saturday, November 28 at 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT while the losers meet earlier that morning at 11:00 a.m. ET/8:00 a.m. PT.
Louisville, Marist, LSU and Purdue occupy the other side of the bracket. The Cardinals and Red Foxes face off on Friday, November 27 at 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT ahead of the Lady Tigers and Boilermakers at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT. Those winners will play the other semifinal on Saturday, November 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT with the losers moving to the consolation side of the bracket for a game at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT that same day.
Stanford is one of four 2015 NCAA Tournament teams in the eight-team field along with Dayton, Louisville and LSU. Maine, Marist and Missouri State are coming off WNIT berths. Purdue went 11-20 last year and made it to the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.
In 2014-15, the Cardinal made its eighth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance, finished its 26-10 overall and claimed the program’s 11th Pac-12 Tournament title in 14 years.
