STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford wrestling program and eighth-year head coach Jason Borrelli have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The Pac-12 Networks will announce its broadcast dates in early October and the wrestling schedule will be finalized at that time.

Stanford will wrestle in 15 duals and compete in some of the nation's most competitive collegiate tournaments this year.

“We are very excited about this year's schedule,” said Borrelli. “It ensures that our wrestlers will be exposed to the best competition in the country and will be prepared for the NCAA tournament come March.”

The Cardinal will have seven home dates, highlighted by its home opener featuring Penn State on Sunday, Nov. 22. The Nittany Lions have won four of the past five NCAA team titles. It is believed to be Penn State’s first trip to The Farm for wrestling. The match will take place in Maples Pavilion.

The Cardinal opens the 2015-16 campaign on the road at Pac-12 foe Cal Poly in an outdoor dual on Monday, Nov. 2 in San Luis Obispo, California. Stanford then travels to Chattanooga, Tennessee to face Chattanooga on Nov. 7 before heading to the Hoakie Open in Blacksburg, Virginia on Nov. 8.

After returning to California for the Roadrunner Open in Fresno on Nov. 15, Stanford’s final home dual before the New Year is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17 against CSU Bakersfield. The Cardinal will wrap-up 2015 at the Reno Tournament of Champions on Dec. 20.

Stanford will bring in 2016 at arguably the toughest regular season tournament in the country, the Southern Scuffle, Jan. 1-2.

Stanford will then wrestle its next five duals in the Bay Area, starting at home on Jan. 9 versus Cal Baptist. After road duals at San Francisco State and Menlo College on Jan. 10, the Cardinal will host to Utah Valley (Jan. 15) and Duke (Jan. 16).

The Cardinal will hit the road for duals against West Virginia and Arizona State on Jan. 23 in Tempe, Arizona. Stanford then plays host to Pac-12 Champion Oregon State on Feb. 4 before a road dual at Air Force on Feb. 6.

Stanford’s Senior Day is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 11 versus Boise State. The Cardinal will close out the dual season on the road at Oklahoma State on Valentine’s Day. The most storied wrestling program in history, the Cowboys have won 34 NCAA team titles.

Arizona State will host the Pac-12 Championships on Saturday, March 27 at Wells Fargo Arena. The finals will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks. The NCAA Championships will be held March 17-19 in New York City’s Madison Square Garden.
