STANFORD, Calif. – The Pac-12 Networks will televise the Stanford men’s swimming and diving team’s conference dual meet with Arizona State, as announced Thursday by the conference.

The meet with the Sun Devils will take place Jan. 22 at 1 p.m. (PT) at Avery Aquatic Center, and is the only televised event on the Cardinal’s schedule for 2015-16.

“I expect there to be great competition in both swimming and diving,” said Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming Ted Knapp. “Hosting this meet is a great opportunity to showcase both our facility and our student-athletes.”

Led by senior captains Danny Thomson and Sean Duggan, several Cardinal returners look poised for a big season. NCAA qualifiers Gray Umbach and Ryan Arata return, as well as relay specialists Jeff Garnier, Christian Brown and Spencer DeShon.

Sophomores Patrick Conatan, Liam Egan, Andrew Liang, Curtis Ogren and Sam Perry are all aiming to build on strong freshman campaigns, while junior All-America diver Bradley Christiansen leads a strong contingent of returning divers.

In addition, 19 student-athletes earned academic recognition from the Pac-12 Conference. Stanford placed seven student-athletes on the first team, the most of any league program. The Cardinal added five second-team performers and seven honorable mention selections.

Stanford begins its season in two weeks when it plays host to UC Santa Cruz, followed by a matchup against Utah one week later at Avery.

After the alumni meet on Oct. 23, the Cardinal will have its first road action on the season when it faces off with Cal in a triple distance meet on Nov. 7. Stanford ends its fall season with a meet against North Carolina State on Nov. 7, followed by the A3 Performance Invite in Monterey Park, California, Nov. 19-21.

The Cardinal plays host to Pacific after almost two months off, followed by conference dual meets with Arizona State, Arizona (Jan. 23), USC (Feb. 6) and Cal (Feb. 20).

The Pac-12 Championships take place March 2-5, immediately followed by the Pac-12 Invite on March 5. Both events take place in Federal Way, Washington. The NCAA Championships will be held March 24-26 in Atlanta, Georgia, and are hosted by Georgia Tech. The Cardinal took sixth place at nationals last season.
