STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford opposite Hayley Hodson has been tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second time this season, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Hodson helped lead the Cardinal to a split in the desert last week, outlasting No. 14 Arizona in five sets before falling to then-No. 6 Arizona State in four. The Newport Beach, California native averaged 3.44 kills, 2.00 digs and 3.94 points per set.
At Arizona, Hodson turned in her fifth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs. Additionally, she tied her career high with three service aces against the Wildcats. At ASU, the rookie tied her career high with 18 kills on .250 hitting. She also recorded seven digs, two assists and two blocks versus the Sun Devils.
On the season, Hodson leads the Cardinal with 3.44 kills, 0.31 aces and 4.12 points per set while also collecting 2.36 digs per set.
It marks the second weekly honor for Hodson and the 11th freshman of the week accolade for the Cardinal all-time.
No. 7 Stanford plays host to Oregon State on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. and No. 25 Oregon on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. Both matches will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
