2016 Schedule Revealed

STANFORD, Calif. – The 2016 Stanford men’s volleyball schedule has been released, including the six matches scheduled for coverage on the Pac-12 Networks. The Cardinal will host 13 home matches on campus this season.

Stanford will play two matches before the New Year, Tuesday, Dec. 29 and Wednesday, Dec. 30 against the University of Saskatchewan. The Cardinal then hits the road to open 2016 with four straight road matches, starting at Ball State on Friday, Jan. 8. Stanford will also face IPFW in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday, Jan. 9. Both matches are slated for 4 p.m. PT.

The Cardinal begins MPSF play the following weekend with two matches at BYU in Provo, Utah, on Jan. 15-16. Stanford returns to The Farm on Friday, Jan. 22 and Saturday, Jan. 23 to play host to UC San Diego and UC Irvine. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. PT.

Stanford’s first Pac-12 Networks broadcast is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 31 at 4 p.m. in Los Angeles against USC. Other Cardinal matches broadcasts on the Pac-12 Networks include at home against UCLA (Feb. 21), Pepperdine (March 12), USC (March 24) and CSUN (March 30), and on the road at UCLA (April 7).

The quarterfinals for the MPSF Tournament are scheduled for Saturday, April 16, while the semifinals and finals will be played on April 21 and 23, respectively. Penn State will serve as the host site for the 2016 NCAA Championships.

Among the returners for the Cardinal in 2016 are All-Americans James Shaw (Sr., S, science, technology and society) and Conrad Kaminski (Sr., MB, mechanical engineering). Also returning are veterans Madison Hayden (Sr., OH, science, technology and society), Alex Stephanus (Sr., MB/OPP, match), Gabriel Vega (RS-Jr., OH, electrical engineering) and Kevin Rakestraw (RS-So., MB, computer science).
