STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford was ranked third in the Collegiate Gymnastics Association Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced Monday by the organization.

The Cardinal received 337 points and two first-place votes. Oklahoma led the country with 373 points and 14 first-place votes, followed by No. 2 Ohio State (340, 2).

Stanford earned its ninth top-three finish at the NCAA Championships in the past 10 years in the 2015 season. The Cardinal went 19-4, registering 17 wins over top-10 opponents, including four ranked in the top five. Five Cardinal gymnasts combined for 10 All-America honors and three gymnasts earned NCAA titles.

With the core group of competitors intact and talented incoming freshman class of seven gymnasts, Stanford will again be poised to challenge for its sixth national championship in 2016.
