Freshman outside hitter Jordan Ewert tallied eight kills on 18 swings with just one error to hit .389.

Senior outside hitter Madison Hayden had four kills and five blocks for the Cardinal. Freshman Russell Dervay took over setting duties for Shaw late in the fourth set, totaling five assists.

The Cardinal held a 17-11 lead in the opening set before the Huskies went on a 14-6 run to close out the set. The second was close early on as there were five tie scores and two lead changes before Stanford found its rhythm.

Saskatchewan was led by Tyler Epp’s 10 kills on .438 hitting in three sets played. Dylan Tarbett finished with 11 kills for the Huskies, while Jordan Nowakowski hit .375 with nine kills.

Stanford officially opens the 2016 season on Friday, Jan. 8 at No. 14 Ball State. The Cardinal will also take on IPFW on Saturday, Jan. 9 during the opening weekend.
