STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford junior forward Erica McCall was selected to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) it was announced Thursday. McCall now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

The academic all-district women’s basketball teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada with District 8 encompassing Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Canada.

McCall, a psychology major with a 3.53 cumulative GPA, is averaging 12.7 points and 9.7 rebounds in 30.8 minutes per game this season. One of four Stanford captains, she is tied for 11th in the nation with 14 double-doubles and has had at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in three straight games. McCall is fourth in the Pac-12 and 38th nationally in rebounding average (9.7) and third in the conference and 60th in the NCAA in blocks per game (1.91).

As accomplished for her country as she is for Stanford, McCall won her fourth gold medal representing the United States at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea in July. A United States co-captain, she finished the event tied for eighth overall in scoring (15.2), was eighth in rebounds (8.5), tied for third in blocks (1.8) and led all players in South Korea in field goal percentage, converting 37 of her 62 attempts from the floor (.597). Team USA went a perfect 6-0 and defeated its opponents by an average of nearly 22 points per game.

Victorious in four straight, No. 13 Stanford (19-5, 9-3) looks to win 20 games for the 15th consecutive season when it hosts Arizona (11-13, 2-10) in Maples Pavilion on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Ann Schatz and Mary Murphy have the call on Pac-12 Networks.
