STANFORD, Calif. - No. 14 Stanford notched its second shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon, blanking No. 23 TCU 7-0 at Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinal (3-2), which will play all four of its matches this month at home, moved above .500 for the first time since defeating Santa Clara in its season opener.
Stanford went ahead 1-0 after capturing the doubles point, as the fifth-ranked duo of Taylor Davidson and Caroline Doyle secured the point with a 6-2 victory.
Doyle added a 6-0, 6-4 singles win to extend Stanford’s lead to 2-0 before Kimberly Yee snapped a three-match skid with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph on court six.
Melissa Lord came through with her second clincher of the season, defeating Alexandra Zenovka 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot.
Stanford returns to action against Fresno State on Friday, Feb. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
