A Stanford softball student-athlete has written a weekly blog in each of the past three seasons to provide fans a behind-the-scenes perspective of the team. This year, sophomore Arden Pettit is taking over the Softblog to chronicle the team's adventures throughout the season. Her third entry this year is below.

Hi again Stanford softball fans!
The team finished up its first home weekend of the 2016 season. It was great to be able to play in front of our home crowd.
It was also the first home weekend that we got to use our new locker room! We passed the time in the locker room this weekend by watching the World Bowling Championships. We ended up nominating Coach Lang to compete next year and bring her famous screwball to the bowling lane.
It could be the next big thing.
On another note, a lot of work goes into the Stanford softball program and there are many important people to recognize. This blog post will introduce Erin Sweeney a.k.a SweenDog. She is our athletic trainer.
Erin spends countless hours taking care of all of our aches and pains. She also gets to put up with our charming good looks and amazing sense of humor on a daily basis. Lucky her.
Erin is from New Jersey and enjoys long walks on the beach and watching hockey. Her second-favorite food is pickles … or corndogs (she couldn’t decide). Her spirit animal is a cat – but unlike cats, she loves the ocean.
Long story short, Erin is a great human and we are lucky to have her as part of the staff this year. Keep on keeping it real, Erin. Thanks for everything you do for us.
The team has a short week of practice this week because we are leaving for Palm Springs, California, on Wednesday to play in the Mary Nutter Tournament. There is always great competition at this tournament and the team is excited to get after it this week.
Come out and watch some great softball this weekend in the Southern California sun and support your Stanford Cardinal!
