Battle of the Best

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 2 Stanford returns to action after a huge week last weekend that saw the Cardinal remain undefeated as they topped No. 9 California, Finland, Canada and reigning World Champion Japan.

The Cardinal (13-0, 5-0 MPSF) travels this weekend to face the top-ranked and defending NCAA Champions Oklahoma. The meet is set for Saturday at 5 p.m. (PT)

The Cardinal has been dominant this season, remaining undefeated on the year while posting the best team score since the scoring system was adjusted with a 447.700 final against No. 8 California and No. 11 Michigan before topping Japan for the first time in 30 years last weekend with a 444.600 score. Akash Modi took home his fourth all-around crowns on the season with a 90.850 score.

Saturday’s Opponent: No. 1 Oklahoma

• Oklahoma went 447.550 last weekend to defeat Minnesota. The Sooners swept all but one event as a team and all but one event in individual finishes.

• Oklahoma is led by Yul Moldauer, who has led in the all-around as well as qualifying for the U.S. Senior National Team after his fifth-place finish at the Winter Cup.
