ATLANTA, Ga. – Stanford earned All-America honors in all six events on day two of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
“This was a big step forward for both Sam Perry and Liam Egan,” said Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming Ted Knapp. “Those two, along with Abrahm DeVine, were our heroes today starting in prelims.”
Perry, Jeff Garnier, Spencer DeShon and Sean Duggan (1:17.77) led off the evening session, earning an All-America honorable mention in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing second in the B-final for 10th place.
Egan (4:13.27) then took fifth place in the 500-yard freestyle, improving his personal best from the morning prelim session and earning first team All-America honors.

Abrahm DeVine earned a second swim in the 200 IM, eventually tying for third in the B-final for an 11th-place finish and an All-America honorable mention nod.
Perry (19.41) continued Stanford’s run of individual All-Americans, finishing fourth in the B-final and 12th overall in the 50-yard freestyle.

Bradley Christensen picked up points on the diving side of the competition, finishing sixth in the B-final of the 1-meter, good for 14th place overall and an All-America honorable mention.
Stanford’s team of Ryan Dudzinski, Matt Anderson, Andrew Liang and Perry (3:06.81) improved its prelim time to finish 13th in the 400-yard medley relay, the final event of Day 2. Perry earned his third All-America honor of the day, while this is the first such honor for Dudzinski, Anderson and Liang.

Stanford (57.5 points) sits 13th in the team competition, just behind Indiana (62) and Louisville (60). Texas (209) leads the field with Florida (163), California (141) and NC State (137) trailing.
“The goal is to have more swims tomorrow night than we did tonight, and a top-eight relay finish would be huge for us,” said Knapp. “Our divers gave us support as well; look for more of that tomorrow.”
The NCAA Championships resume tomorrow morning with prelims at 7 a.m. PT and the evening finals session at 3 p.m. Events include the 400-yard individual medley, the 100-yard butterfly, the 200-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, the 100-yard backstroke, 3-meter diving and the 200-yard medley relay.

Notes:
-Sam Perry was Stanford’s busiest swimmer of the day, participating in three events.
-Liam Egan lowered his 500 free personal best twice, going 4:13.52 in the morning and 4:13.27 in the finals.
-There were several American records broken on day two, but David Nolan's 200 IM time of 1:39.38 from last season was not one of them.
