STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford was awarded individual honors as part of the 2015 Zag Field Hockey /NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad, as announced by the organization this week.
The Cardinal was well-represented with eight honorees, including Maddy Belin, Clemence Couteau, Dulcie Davies, Catherine Dawson, Casey Deeds, Heather Louden, Kennedy Schumacher and Fran Tew.
Davies completes her collegiate career as a four-time recipient of the honor.
To be recognized as an Academic Squad member, a student-athlete must achieve a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2014-15 academic year.
In 2015, the Cardinal opened up its inaugural year in the America East Conference with a solid showing by sharing the regular season crown in the West Division with Pacific. Stanford also advanced to the NCAA Tournament where it fell to Duke in overtime. The Cardinal also collected wins over three top 25 teams including: No. 5 Duke, No. 14 Northwestern and No. 15 Iowa.
The future remains bright for Stanford, which expects to return 15 letterwinners as well as welcome a phenomenal incoming class.
