LA QUINTA, Calif. – Stanford finished sixth among a 15-team field at The Prestige at PGA West, as the three-day, 54-hole event concluded Wednesday. It was the sixth top-10 finish on the season for the Cardinal. Stanford returns to action at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate (Feb. 28-March 1) in Querencia, Mexico.

LSU (277-284-265) claimed the team title with a 26-under, which came along with a final-round 19-under. Arizona State (-8), San Diego State (-4), Pepperdine (E) and USC (+5) placed ahead Stanford (282-285-292). The Cardinal was 7-over for the event.

“We didn’t have our best stuff in the final round,” said Conrad Ray, the Knowles Family Director of Men’s golf. “The course was very demanding early and we never got any momentum going on the front nine. Lots of credit goes to LSU on a great round. We have a lot of work to do, but will have some good time to prep for Cabo.”

David Boote (+2) led the Cardinal by tying for 23rd among individuals. He closed Wednesday’s round with a 3-under on the back nine and 1-over on the day.

Maverick McNealy and Isaiah Salinda tied for 29th at 4-over. Jeffrey Swegle and Brandon Wu matched each other at 6-over to place 37th. Franklin Huang was even in his final round to tie for 37th.

The best round Wednesday was registered by Viraat Badhwar, who went 4-under over his final 11 holes as part of a 2-under 69. Badhwar tied for 34th at 5-over.

Bradley Knox (+11) tied for 57th, Christopher Myers (+15) tied for 64th and Dominick Francks (+19) was 70th.
