Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Program

This program entails developing agency-owned property in and around station area hubs, typically through engaging in a public-private partnership with a developer. The TOD program has goals of increasing ridership and multi-modal access to transit, as well as providing long-term revenue streams for the agency.

Station Area Planning

SamTrans is actively involved in station area planning in two distinct ways: developing agency-owned property, and participating in planning and development projects led by other public agencies, typically cities.
