Speaker Series

The A³C Speaker Series is a lunch series featuring faculty, staff and off-campus professionals speaking on issues pertaining to academics, career options, public service and other topics. The purpose of the Speaker Series is to introduce undergraduate students to resources available on campus and encourage open discussions about various topics pertinent to the Asian American community. The general format of speaker series is very informal, allowing the speakers and students to interact in an intimate setting.

Freshmen in particular benefit from speaker series in the fall because topics help first-year students make a smooth transition to college life and provide an opportunity to meet various faculty and staff through informal lunchtime talks. The line-up for each quarter changes according to the needs and interests expressed by students. Past topics include:

  • How to Avoid Model-Minority Burn-Out
  • The Pre-Med Thing: Is it Really for Me?
  • How to Work with Faculty

The Speaker Series is your opportunity to meet faculty and staff at Stanford in an informal setting. All sessions are from 12–1 pm every Thursday at A³C which is located on the 2nd floor of the Old Union Clubhouse. A light lunch is provided.
