Suzanne Ferris

Suzanne Ferris is the Assistant Vice President, Human Resources (HR) for Business Affairs and she  reports to the VP of Business Affairs and CFO, Randy Livingston. Suzanne provides high level strategic business partner support for the staff, managers and leaders within the organization.

Suzanne and the HR team provide guidance, coaching and consulting to the over 870 staff and the twelve different departments within the organization. She and the HR team, which consists of five HR Managers (Dawn Freeman, Jennifer Mallon Brown, Christine O’Keeffe, Jennifer Freitas and Suzanne) and two HR Representatives (Margie Mene and Jennie Munson) are trusted advisors and business partners to the organization.

Suzanne has a varied career which spans direct sales, sales management and sales administration before she made the transition into human resources. She has served as both an individual contributor and manager at such well known bay area companies as Syntex/Syva, Samsung, SGI and Oracle. At Oracle, Suzanne made a formal transition into management coaching and development and joined the HR organization. She supported several organizations to include the office of the CFO during her tenure.

Suzanne has over 25 years in the field of human resources and joined Stanford in October 2002 as the HR Director for the Alumni Association, Office of Development and Public Affairs. She served as Associate Vice President and as a member of the leadership team for University HR from May 2011 through July 2012 before accepting the role of Director of HR for Business Affairs.

Suzanne graduated from the University of West Florida with a duo degree in Psychology and Sociology and she has held her Senior Professional Human Resources credentials (SPHR) since 2006.
