NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICIES AND RESOURCES

The President and Provost have delegated responsibilities for the implementation of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs and activities at Stanford University to the director of the Diversity and Access Office. The director assists in developing the University's Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), oversees its implementation, and reviews employee recruiting, hiring and other personnel actions. The Diversity and Access Office also coordinates and monitors the University's compliance with the requirements of federal and state non-discrimination laws, including providing guidance and evaluating efforts to improve equal employment, access to campus facilities and programs, as well as advising staff, faculty and visitors regarding disability accommodations.

The Diversity and Access Office ensures compliance with (not limited to the following) Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act, Equal Pay Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and Executive Order 11246, California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA) and Unruh Civil Rights Act.
