About Asian Women’s Home

Asian Women’s Home is the anti-domestic violence and human trafficking program of Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI).  Alarmed by the incidence of domestic violence in the Asian community and realizing the enormous cultural and linguistic barriers immigrant families faced, AACI formed Asian Women’s Home in 1986. Our staff speak 14 different languages, both Asian and non-Asian. Our 12-bed shelter is the only domestic violence shelter in Santa Clara County that focuses on the Asian community, and we are one of only nine shelters focusing on Asian and Pacific Islander domestic violence survivors in the entire continental U.S.  Asian Women’s Home serves everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or sexual orientation.
