5:00pm
East Seminar Room

Are you an engineering or science student?
Are you interested the field of STEM education?
Come meet and chat with four experts in education with expertise in engineering, science, curriculum development, and policy. Learn more about their unique pathways into education, research, and industry and have your questions answered.

Our guests are:

Professor Lynn Hildemann is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She is an accomplished scientist, engineer, and educator. She won the Walter J. Gores award for excellence in Teaching and was instrumental in designing the Environmental Systems Engineering program.

Professor Shelley Goldman is a professor in the Graduate School of Education and Mechanical Engineering.  She currently studies how families engage with mathematics in the course of everyday problem-solving. Her quest to give people the tools they need to collaborate and accomplish learning has led her to study and design computer technologies. She is interested in understanding how design thinking can become a powerful and effective pedagogy in K-12 classrooms.

Dr. Angela Harris is a postdoctoral lecturer in the Thinking Matters program at Stanford. Alongside her work in environmental engineering, Angela conducts research related to education, particularly in the engineering fields. Currently her work related to education seeks to better understand student career choices and institutional support for students in career development and career preparation.

Professor Anthony Antonio is a co-Resident Fellow at EAST House and a professor in the Graduate School of Education. His research investigates the impact that increasing racial and cultural diversity is having on higher education. His current projects also include studies of engineering education.
