Tahrirolvasyleh (Arabic script تحرير الوسيلة, also transcribed as Tahrir-ul-Vaseela or Tahrir al-wasilah) is a book (in two volumes and four editions) authored by Ayatollah Khomeini as a guide for Muslims.

The Website of Ayatollah Muhammad Fazel Lankarani has listed the book[1] under the title Tafsil-al-Shariah.

[edit] Overview

The book stands in a centuries-old tradition of commentaries on Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) which are commonly written by high Shia clerics who bear the title of Marja, for the use of their students and fellow clerics. As such, it contains highly conventionalized compilations of traditional rulings in very advanced, classical Arabic, on matters pertaining to Islamic life and morality. This book contrasts sharply with other works by Khomeini, which contain more novel and controversial accounts of his theological and political stances.

The book has been the target of polemical attacks by some critics of Khomeini.
