Shimon Tanaka has received fellowships from the Asian Cultural Council, the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and Stanford University, where he was a Stegner Fellow from 2005-2007. His stories have appeared and/or are forthcoming in Best New American Voices, The Missouri Review, The Gettysburg Review, The Michigan Quarterly Review and Glimmer Train.
