Bio

Giorgia is Assistant Professor in Pubblic Economics at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) since 2012 and Visiting Scholar at Stanford University in the Department of CHP/PCOR in the School of Medicine for the period August 15, 2015 through May 31, 2016.

She has a PhD in Economics and a MSc in Economics and Econometrics, both awarded by the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) and a BA in Economics, awarded by the Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). Her past experience includes posts as Research Fellow and Research Assistant at the Centre for Economic and International Studies, University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy), Research Fellow in the Health Policy team at the Centre for Health Economics, University of York (UK), postgraduate teacher at the Department for Financial and Management Studies, University of London (UK).

Recent research projects include topics such as analysis of the English prospective payment system (Payment by Results), evaluation of financial management of the hospitals that have been given more autonomy (Foundation Trusts), analysis of the under-provision of general practitioners in relation with the needs of population (Fairness in Primary Care Procurement), analysis of hospital cost functions and evaluation of scale and scope efficiencies.
