Bio

Sheryl Davies, M.A. is a Research Associate at the Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research. Ms. Davies primary research interests include quality of care, quality improvement, measurement of quality and use of administrative data. Over the past sixteen years she has managed the development of the AHRQ Quality Indicators project and served as a co-investigator for over six development efforts. Her work has spanned adult and pediatric inpatient indicators and risk adjustment, use of hospital admissions and emergency department visits as indicators of community health, emergency preparedness of hospitals, and hospital readmissions. She has developed an expertise in administrative data and ICD-9-CM coding, quality measurement and risk adjustment using administrative data. She has authored multiple peer-review manuscripts in the area of quality measurement. She earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in human biology and a masters’ degree in psychology from Stanford University.
