About the Program

The program supports dissertatition writers with TGR status, within the six social science departments of the School of Humanities & Sciences. Particular encouragement is provided to graduate students whose research crosses disciplinary boundaries, relies upon computational social science methods, and/or analyzes large, complex data sets.  Due to high demand, we are only able to accommodate students enrolled in departments under the School of Humanities & Sciences.

Funding and Research Support

IRiSS Dissertation Fellows receive a stipend for 1-2 quarters of the academic year. Based on need and space considerations, dissertation fellows may have access to shared work/office space and research support services within IRiSS. Fellows will participate in monthly lunch conversations.

Eligibility

Applicants must have advanced to Ph.D. candidacy, have TGR status by Autumn Quarter 2016, and have completed all requirements for the Ph.D., other than the dissertation. They must have a dissertation proposal approved by their committee. Please see the guidelines download below, for complete eligibility requirements and application instructions.
