Emily's role in the library
I catalog cartographic resources for the DRMC and Branner Earth Sciences Library, specifically focusing on rare and anitquarian maps and atlases. I also provide reference services at the DRMC, including the demonstration of advanced searching in Stanford library catalogs. In addition, I create visual instructional materials.

More about Emily
With a background in art, I have a particular interest in the material history of maps, including engraving processes, printing, and bookbinding, which I seek to understand through hands-on experience. In 2013, I interned at the Stanford Conservation Lab with Paper Conservator Deb Fox and learned how to perform basic paper conservation treatments. Fun fact: my great-grandfather's grandfather clock resides in the University President's office.
