Harlem Students Organize Youth Financial Summit
Rangel joins Harlem Children's Zone students in promoting the Earned Income Tax Credit and other financial resources for children and families. House Passes Rangel Bill to Designate Ron Brown Building
The United States House of Representatives has passed a bill sponsored by Congressman Rangel to designate a new State Department building in New York City after Ronald H. Brown, the late Commerce Department Secretary and New York resident who died in a plane crash in 1996.  The legislation now awaits action in the Senate.The 26-story building, located at 799 United Nations Plaza across the street from the United Nations (U.N.) Rangel Urges Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano to Reconsider Deporting 30,000 Haitian Immigrants
In an effort to stop the deportation of 30,000 Haitian immigrants, Cong. Charles Rangel reached out to the Secretary of Homeland Security in a final effort to grant the Haitian nationals with Temporary Protective Status (TPS).In an ongoing dispute which started on December 5th, before the Bush Administration left office, the U.S. government has been pressuring the Haitian consular offices in the U.S. to provide travel documentation to immigrants targeted for deportation.In the letter issued to Secretary Janet Napolitano on March 9th, the Congressman asked the Secretary to consider granting TPS status on these immigrants because "...to send an additional …more

Rangel Pays Tribute to West Harlem Housing Advocate
U.S. Representative Charles B.
