Student Staff Appointments

Greek organizations are self-governing and have individual processes for choosing their leadership, including house staff appointments.

There are a total of ten facilities dedicated to fraternities and sororities where students may receive a staff appointment.

Student staff in fraternities and sororities are both important members of the Residential Education team and their fraternity and sorority community. It is for this reason that there is a two-step process for staff appointments in a fraternity or sorority house.

The student staff appointments available in fraternity and sorority houses include: Resident Assistant (RA), Community Manager (CM), Kitchen Manger (KM), and Financial Manager (FM).

To be eligible for an appointment in a fraternity or sorority house, you must:

  1. Be a member of the organization for which you are applying.
  2. Follow the Residential Education selection process.
  3. Be elected or selected by the chapter to serve in the position. For more information about this process, please refer to your chapter bylaws.
  4. Every Greek chapter house has a Residential Computer Consultant (RCC), and sorority houses have Peer Health Educators (PHE). Oversight, training, and selection for those appointments are coordinated by different departments and more information can be found at the following sites:
