No Summer 2015 Fellow (new fellowship)

Due to federal requirements, applicants to this position must be United States Citizens.

Department of Justice Antitrust Division:

The fellow will be part of the Economic Analysis Group in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. This Group provides economic analysis of antitrust cases brought by the Antitrust Division. It  is primarily focused on applied microeconomics, particularly in analyzing competitive interactions between firms in specific markets.

Fellows will work with economists in the group to define relevant product and geographic markets, determine pricing patterns, find trends in large datasets, perform statistical analysis of firm behavior within markets, and provide exhibits (such as data, charts, and graphs) that may be required for litigation.

The Fellow must:

·      Be a US citizen

·      Be detail-oriented

·      Be a highly-motivated individual

·      Be majoring in economics, computer science, math, or a related field

·      Have an interest in microeconomics

·      Have completed a course on econometrics

·      Have experience in working with statistics, computer databases or other types of computer programming
