Playing a role in supporting Stanford’s teaching and research mission is of great value to David Cuffy, who has worked at the university as an administrative associate for four years.
“I love making a difference and I believe the research being conducted here at Stanford is important,” he says. “I want to contribute to the legacy that is Stanford, and hope to one day retire from Stanford knowing I was part of something great!”
For David, working at Stanford has also meant rubbing shoulders with notable people, an unexpected but welcomed perk of the job. “I ate lunch with the top pick in the NFL draft, Andrew Luck. I’ve talked with women’s basketball coach Tara VanDerveer and stood behind Joe Montana and his family in line for food at Tresidder,” David says. “I saw the Dalai Lama on campus and I know Nobel Laureates … all because I work at Stanford!”
Being surrounded by a sense of greatness has been both inspiring and motivating for David. “The atmosphere at Stanford is remarkable. The people you meet here are so positive and supportive,” he says. “And the ambitions of the students and faculty rub off on you. I love working at Stanford!”
